Rory McIlroy started playing golf professionally in 2007 at age 18. He has achieved numerous milestones, including being one of the youngest players to win major championships, with victories in the U.S. Open, PGA Championships and The Open Championships.

In November 2024, McIlroy announced that he would begin playing less in 2025, sharing what’s actually important to him is “friends, family and enjoying myself.”

In 2017, McIlroy married former PGA of America employee Erica Stoll. In 2020, they welcomed their daughter Poppy Kennedy. The couple briefly separated, filing for divorce in 2024, but the couple reconciled shortly after.
