
Sam Reid
Sam Reid is an Australian actor best known for playing Lestat de Lioncourt on AMC’s Interview with the Vampire. Reid spent his childhood in New South Wales, Australia, going on to attend Cranbrook School in Sydney. He attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, where he graduated in 2010 before pursuing acting professionally.
Reid’s career began with a small role on the Australian medical drama All Saints in 2007. He later landed his first film role in the 2010 TV movie The Taking of Prince Harry as the titular character. His breakout came the following year when he played the role of Earl of Essex in Anonymous (2011). He went on to land roles in several high profile projects, including Hatfields & McCoys, Belle (2013), The Railway Man (2013), The Riot Club (2014) and ’71 (2014).
In 2022, he joined the cast of AMC’s Interview With the Vampire as Lestat De Lioncourt, a role that earned him a Critics’ Choice Television Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2024. He is set to star in the show’s spinoff, The Vampire Lestat, in 2026.
Reid has kept his dating life largely private and previously sparked dating rumors with his Standing Up for Sunny costar Philippa Northeast, but the two were never confirmed to be dating.
