Tate McRae

Tate McRae is a Canadian dancer and singer-songwriter. As a child, McRae trained at the School of Alberta Ballet and later expanded her studies to styles outside of ballet. Throughout her childhood, the dancer joined multiple dance crews that performed alongside the likes of artists such as Justin Bieber.

In 2016, McRae made her American television debut as a dancer for the DancerPalooza crew on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Later that year, she became a contestant on the competition show So You Think You Can Dance. Under the mentorship of Kathryn McCormick, she placed third overall, ranking the highest of any Canadian in the show’s history.

She began exploring music in 2011, and after posting a number of her original compositions on YouTube, she landed a record deal with RCA Records in 2019. Her debut EP, All The Things I Never Said, was released in 2020 and announced her first-ever headliner tour shortly after. She has since had a number of Billboard charting releases, including Too Young To Be Sad (2021) and Think Later (2023).

In February 2025, McRae announced her third studio album, So Close to What, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200. She is set to tour for the album in March 2025.

The singer dated ice hockey player Cole Sillinger from 2021 to 2023. After calling it quits, she was confirmed to be in a relationship with rapper the Kid Laroi in April 2024. In February 2026, Us Weekly reported she was dating hockey player Jack Hughes.
