Tom Selleck is an actor known for his starring role in the 1980s series Magnum, P.I. as Thomas Magnum. He began his acting career by chance after appearing on The Dating Game twice in the 1960s. He joined the Fox New Talent Program, where he took classes in acting, voice and dance. Following this, he appeared in commercials for brands like Pepsi-Cola, Salem cigarettes and Revlon’s Chaz cologne.

Selleck has appeared extensively on both the big and small screens in films such as Quigley Down Under (1990) and Mr. Baseball (1992) as well as on TV shows including Friends (1994) and Las Vegas (2003). In 2010, he was cast as Commissioner Frank Reagan in the CBS drama series Blue Bloods, which is set to conclude in December 2024 after 14 seasons.

Selleck was married to model and actress Jacqueline Ray from May 1971 to August 1982, during which they adopted her son, Kevin Shepard (born in 1966). He later married actress Jillie Mack in August 1987, and they welcomed their daughter, Hannah Margaret, in December 1988. Kevin followed in his parents footsteps as an actor, while Hannah became a professional equestrian and show jumper, creating her own breeding and training operation for high-end horses.
