Wendy Osefo is a Nigerian-American political commentator, professor and television personality best known for starring on The Real Housewives of Potomac. Born in Nigeria and raised in Maryland, Osefo earned a B.A. in political science from Temple University, a master’s in government from Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D. in public affairs and community development from Rutgers University, becoming the first Black woman to earn a doctorate in her program.

Before joining reality TV, Osefo built a career as a professor at Johns Hopkins University and a frequent political commentator on networks including CNN and MSNBC. She made her reality television debut on season 5 of The Real Housewives of Potomac in 2020, where she became known for her outspoken views and family storylines.

She has also authored a memoir, Tears of My Mother, released in 2022. In addition to her TV work, she launched a home essentials line, Onyi Home Essentials, and has continued teaching and speaking at various events. In 2025, she and husband Eddie Osefo were arrested on charges of fraud.

Osefo married attorney Eddie in 2011. The couple share children sons Karter and Kruz, and daughter Kamrynn.
