Whitney Purvis

Whitney Purvis is a reality TV personality best known for appearing on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant during its inaugural season. Purvis spent her childhood in Rome, Georgia, where her pregnancy and foray into motherhood were documented while she was still a high school student.

She rose to fame in 2009 when she was featured in Season 1 of 16 and Pregnant, which followed her journey as a pregnant teenager navigating her relationship, education and family dynamics. Her episode highlighted her challenges with her then-boyfriend Weston Gosa Jr. and their co-parenting issues. Outside of her appearance on 16 and Pregnant, Purvis has maintained a presence on social media and has occasionally resurfaced in local news for disorderly conduct. In June 2025, she was arrested after being charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Purvis was previously in a relationship with Gosa Jr. The two had an on-and-off relationship that included several legal issues before they eventually split. They share sons Weston (2009-2025) and River (born in 2014). In June 2025, her son Weston died from natural causes at age 16.
