Kelly Clarkson is having a rough time during her second pregnancy. The “Stronger” singer opened up about feeling under the weather during an interview with CBS This Morning on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
“I’m familiar with all-day sickness,” Clarkson, 33, told Gayle King, laughing. “I have to get IVs and fluids because I get so dehydrated. It’s really bad.”
Back in 2013, Clarkson told Ellen DeGeneres she vomited a “dozen times a day” when she was pregnant with her daughter, River Rose, now 17 months.
The American Idol alum announced in August that she and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, are expecting their second child, a baby boy. She was performing at L.A.’s Staples Center at the time and was overcome with emotion mid-song.
“I couldn’t get through it and I was crying so hard and I thought, ‘These people are going to think I’m on drugs, but I’m about to lose it like a crazy person,'” Clarkson recalled. “I was like, ‘Oh, I gotta explain.’ And then it just came out.”
Clarkson and Blackstock, 38, married in Walland, Tenn., in October 2013 and welcomed River Rose in June 2014. On Wednesday, Clarkson opened up about her relationship with Blackstock — and how he’s nothing like her own father, Stephen Clarkson. (The “Miss Independent” singer has previously said that her dad wasn’t around much while she was growing up.) “Well, he was present. He wins for being around,” Clarkson said of Blackstock.
