Prepping for girl Jonas! Kevin and Danielle Jonas will be expecting their first child, a baby girl, any day now. The first-time parents-to-be chatted with Us Weekly about the "cute" name they've picked out and how they're preparing for parenthood at the Dreft "Amazing Baby Days" app launch event in New York City on Monday, Jan. 7.
"We're not telling anyone the name, but we have a name," Kevin, 26, told Us. His wife of four years added, "[The] middle name has a lot of meaning, but her first name is . . . different enough but not totally out there. It's cute."
Though they have the name chosen, the couple still has a lot left to do before the baby arrives. Danielle, 26, told Us she's "getting nervous" trying to finish decorating the nursery after moving into a new home. The former Jonas Brothers singer also admitted that he is a little worried about fatherhood in general.
"I think I will become more nervous when — not even in the hospital cause there’s nurses — when we walk through that door and she's in our house," he confessed. "She's home and we're by ourselves now . . . should be interesting. Luckily, we have two good families that hopefully are willing to help us out as much as we ask."
Jitters aside, Kevin is very excited to welcome his little girl. "I can't wait for Daddy days," he shared. "I'm excited for the days I can just spend with her by myself. I want to take her to not typical little girlie things. I want to go to baseball games with her. Even just time at home — me and her one-on-one while [Danielle] goes to the grocery store or out with her friends. Something to give her a break too. She deserves it."
How does Danielle think Kevin will be as a dad? "He's going to be very loving. He's very loving with me," she said. "He takes care of me really well. Always worried. I think he's going to do the same thing with her but more. I don't even know what that could be!"
And, likewise, Kevin told Us that Danielle will be "incredible" as a first-time mom. "Since I met her, I knew she was made out for this. She had something about her that was going to be able to take care of another person in the best way," he gushed. "She gives more to other people than she does for herself. I'm excited to see what that will be when it's a baby."
But Danielle isn't quite sure she wants to have four children as she had originally planned. "I think we're on three," she said. Kevin jokingly added, "We haven't hit the labor yet, so maybe after the labor we're down to two!"
