Going from one kid to two is a big adjustment. Just ask Tamera Mowry-Housley. “It’s hard,” the Real cohost told Us Weekly on Sunday, April 17 at the Milk + Bookies Story Time Celebration in Los Angeles. “We were in the trenches. It was challenging for the first six months. The hardest part was giving attention to both.”
Mowry-Housley and her husband, Fox News correspondent Adam Housely, are parents of son Aden, 3, and daughter Ariah, 9 months.
“It was challenging because [Aden] was very jealous and would try and hit her,” the Sister, Sister alum said, “but now they are the best of friends. When she sees him she goes crazy with excitement. More than when she sees me!”
The Zara-clad mom, 37, worked the red carpet with Ariah, who wore a Bluraine playsuit and earrings! “If you want to get your kid’s ears pierced, get them done at the pediatrician,” Mowry advised. “And make sure the timing is right. You either want to do it early — or when they are 11. Not when they’re a toddler, because they start to pull and tug and they get infected.”
Mowry-Housley also dished advice on how to drone out judgmental moms — especially when it comes to breast-feeding. “I’ve learned you have to do what’s right for you and your family and no matter what, people are going to judge,” said the former teen star, who is no longer nursing. “There are momsters who are going to be out there watching everything you do. Now I just channel them out. I know what is best for my family, my children and me. I got this.”
