No more drama. Adele’s father, Mark Evans, said in an interview on Saturday, Oct. 25, that he and his estranged daughter had made up and put the past behind them.
Evans, 53, told The Sun that he and Adele, 27, had reconciled, after the pair had a falling out in 2012 when she said that she had problems finding love because of abandonment issues. Evans walked out on the powerhouse singer when she was a child, in 1991.
“Adele and I are fine, it was a misunderstanding,” Evans said. “We’ve patched things up, everything’s fine, but I don’t want to make further comment.”
The father and daughter reportedly secretly made up in 2013, after Evans revealed to The Sun that he was battling bowel cancer and was seeking his daughter’s forgiveness. He also admitted that he was a terrible father and a heavy drinker.
A few years ago, the “Someone Like You” singer claimed that she would “spit at him in the street,” and that “he would never hear from [her] again.”
The Grammy winner dropped “Hello,” her first single in three years, on Friday, Oct. 23, along with the music video, which has already broken the record for the most-viewed Vevo video in a 24-hour span.
Her third studio album, 25, is set for release on Nov. 20.
