Her family was everything. VH1 aired its first episode of Mob Wives after Big Ang’s death last Thursday, February 18, and it featured the beloved late reality star worrying about her kids and grandkids on the day of her surgery.
The scene begins with Big Ang wandering through her home in Staten Island the morning of her procedure. As she packs, she sees a stroller in her corridor and gets emotional.
“Everything’s running through my head,” Big Ang says in the clip, which aired on Wednesday, February 24. “All I keep thinking about right now is my grandchildren, my kids. Am I ever going to see them again? I am the glue that holds this family together. Without me this family would fall apart.”
Big Ang also worried about all the things she wanted to accomplish in the future. “You know, I’ve done a lot in my life. I had a full life,” she says in the episode as she breaks down. “But I’m not done here. I gotta be around, ’cause I want to see my grandchildren.”
Big Ang battled stage IV brain and lung cancer before she passed away at age 55. As previously reported by Us Weekly, her kids, A.J. and Raquel Donofrio, have been “holding on” since their mother’s death.
“A.J.’s taking it really hard,” Big Ang’s friend Robin Borges told Us this weekend. “Raquel’s all right.”
She was laid to rest on Monday, February 22.
