We’re lovin’ it! Wait … wrong company. On Friday, January 22, the ultimate fast-food showdown happened on Twitter when competing chains Burger King and Wendy’s threw some insane shade at each other online in the funniest way possible.
It all started when Wendy’s shared details on its new promotion, the four items for $4 meal. Burger King shot back, trying to one-up the deal with its own five for $4 meal, tweeting, “5 is better than 4.”
That’s when things got salty (yeah, we went there).
A fan asked Wendy’s, “What are you firing back,” to which the Frosty-loving chain replied, “edible food.”
Burger King didn’t directly respond to Wendy’s diss, but later that day its official account tweeted, “Never trust anyone who says they don’t feel like BK.”
So far no other competing chains have engaged in the online war, but McDonald’s did promote its new McPick two for $2 deal, so it’s only a matter of time.
