Saturdays are for lovers! Carrie Ann Inaba got engaged to her General Hospital actor beau, Robb Derringer, during a romantic beach date Saturday, December 10, the Dancing With the Stars judge confirmed with fans Wednesday, December 14.
“We’re so excited to share this with everyone … IT’S TRUE! #believeinlove ❤️❤️❤️ @robbderringer,” the 48-year-old DWTS veteran captioned a snapshot of the pair all dolled up on the red carpet.
Derringer, 49, also expressed his excitement over the pair’s engagement with his own photo collage — one photo showing the happy couple with Inaba flashing her ring, and the other depicting her bejeweled hand in front of a roaring fire.
“So overjoyed to share the best thing that has ever happened to me when @carrieanninaba made me the luckiest guy in the word in saying … yes,” the soap star captioned the image on social media.
In an interview with People published on Wednesday, the pair recounted the seriously cute details of Derringer’s proposal. “Saturdays are special to us, because our first date was on a Saturday and we have celebrated with a toast, a visit to a beach, special date, a motorcycle adventure, or a road trip on every Saturday since,” Inaba told the magazine. “So on Saturday, we returned to the place of our first date and got engaged at the same place we shared our spontaneous and magical first date.”
The pair shared a bottle of chardonnay and enjoyed a bonfire on the beach, which was particularly significant to the couple, who said “the majestic Pacific Ocean … has always been an integral force in both our lives.”
Inaba and Derringer first went public with their romance earlier this spring and moved in together not long after. The Dancing With the Stars judge was previously engaged to Jesse Sloan in March 2011, but the pair called off their engagement in the summer of 2012.
