Given the opportunity to turn back the hands of time, Dina Lohan isn't so sure she would have allowed her daughter Lindsay to pursue a career in Hollywood.
"I was born into the business," Dina, 50, told the New York Daily News September 21. "My mother was an entertainer. It was natural. But yes, in the next life, I might not do it."
Lindsay, who is currently on probation, was arrested September 19 for allegedly clipping a man's leg with a Porsche at the Dream Hotel in New York City. The alleged victim, Jose Rodriguez, was taken to a hospital; He later claimed the Liz & Dick actress "reeked of alcohol."
(According to TMZ, two police officers reviewed the hotel's surveillance video later that morning. One detective said Lindsay's car merely "grazed" the back of Rodriguez's leg, while the other detective said he believed the car never made contact. The video also shows Rodriguez sprinting after Lohan's car.)
Dina admitted she isn't proud of her daughter's multiple arrests or headline-making antics, but it's up to her daughter to get on the straight and narrow. "I'm certainly not making excuses for Lindsay's behavior," Dina said. "But she's a 26-year-old woman."
The Long Island resident added that she no longer paints the town red with her daughter. "I don't party with Lindsay," Dina clarified. "In the early years, I would go with her to clubs, because I wanted to see who the enablers were."
Dina told the New York Daily News she's still wary of those close to Lindsay, including the actress' 25-year-old assistant, Gavin Doyle.
"I have questions about Gavin," Dina told the newspaper. "There have been numerous incidents with Lindsay where he has been present. He was with her recently at [millionaire Sam Magid's] party when she was falsely accused of burglarizing jewelry. It's all very sketchy."
