Jaime Pressly has something to get off her chest.
Though the former My Name Is Earl actress got off to a rocky start in 2011, she wants fans to know that her impending divorce from entertainment lawyer Simran Singh has nothing to do with her alleged DUI.
(Pressly pleaded not guilty to the DUI charges on February 4.)
"People think my divorce is happening because of the situation," she tells Extra. "The truth is, these are all isolated incidences."
Pressly explained that this is the first major hiccup in her career, which is why she was surprised by the recent attention surrounding her personal life.
"I've been in the business for 16, 17 years, and I've been very good," she complained. "I've watched so many people make mistakes, and I never wanted to be that person."
The 33-year-old actress agreed to do the Extra interview out of consideration for her three-year-old son Desi. "I don't ever want my son to grow up and read all these false statements," she explained.
"I have no problem saying that I'm responsible for my own actions," she continued. "I'm also human and never claimed to be perfect."
