After the Myrtle Beach police in South Carolina put a warrant out for Jenelle Evans‘ arrest on Wednesday, May 27, the Teen Mom 2 star, 23, turned herself into the cops on Thursday.
Wearing a turquoise tank top and looking serious, the reality star posed for yet another mugshot, this time being charged for domestic violence. MTV cameras followed Evans to the police station, filming as she turned herself in, a source tells Us Weekly.
It all started on May 26, when Evans allegedly showed up at her ex-fiance Nathan Griffith’s house where she began attacking him. According to the police report, the father of Evans’ son Kaiser had scratches and bruises all over.
Following the incident, Evans retweeted her official PR account handle saying that Griffith had tried to run over her with his car, but her lawyer Amy S. Lawrence told a different story to Us Weekly.
“She’s just…I think that in her heart she thought that maybe with them breaking up that they would get back together because they have a child together,” Lawrence said after confirming the MTV star wasn’t seeking medical treatment. “And I think she’s just very hurt that he has moved on.”
As for Griffith, Lawrence was under the impression that her client’s ex had no intention of making Evans pay for her conduct.
“He will do everything that he can to get these charges dismissed for Jenelle,” Lawrence continued. “He understands that she’s hurt because they’ve broken up, and he’s dating somebody else and things escalated in a way they shouldn’t have. But he does not want her to have any kind of criminal consequence for this.”
