Dress rehearsal went so differently though.
Keira Knightley’s Broadway debut in Therese Raquin came to a screeching halt in NYC on Thursday, Oct. 1, when a fan of the British actress tried to get her attention.
According to TMZ, the unidentified male — sitting in the mezzanine section — reportedly shouted Knightley’s name and demanded her to respond five minutes into the show. He then threw a bouquet of flowers at the stage.
Luckily for other attendees, the show (which always must go on!) only stopped for a brief intermission. The man was approached by ushers, handcuffed, and escorted out of Studio 54.
Knightley, 30, meanwhile, was a pro throughout the entire incident. She reportedly kept calm and even kicked the flowers off the stage with costar Judith Light.
Knightley plays the title character in the show, which was originally written by Emile Zola and adapted by British playwright Helen Edmundson. She also stars alongside Gabriel Ebert, Matt Ryan, and David Patrick Kelly.
