After two years of marriage, Species star Natasha Henstridge and singer Darius Campbell have called it quits. "We decided to file for divorce and we ask for privacy at this time," Campbell told The Daily Mail on Tuesday, July 23. "We filed the divorce papers today. It was a mutual decision."
The exes, who met on a street crossing in 2004, called off their engagement in 2010. They reconciled after five months, and on Valentine's Day in 2011, they tied the knot at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, Calif. The only people present for the wedding ceremony were Henstridge's sons, Tristan, 14, and Asher, 11 (with her former partner, Liam Waite).
"We didn't tell our parents for a few days afterwards," Canadian-born Henstridge later told Hello! magazine. "We wanted to be together and enjoy it for a while. It was really spontaneous. It was a very hard secret to keep!"
Henstridge — whose most recent film and TV projects include Against the Wild, The Last Supper and The Secret Circle — was wed to actor Damian Chapa from 1995 to 1996. Campbell found fame in 2002 on the British singing competition Pop Idol. He currently plays the lead role of Warden in the West End production of From Here to Eternity the Musical.
