Look who’s getting red in the face! Nick Jonas stopped by the Wendy Williams Show on Wednesday, Nov. 19, where the two discussed a hot topic — and no, it wasn’t the singer’s chiseled physique.
Williams noticed that the “Jealous” hitmaker was no longer wearing his once-cherished purity ring, and she asked whether he regretted discussing his virginity in public.
“I don’t regret it,” Jonas, 22, responded. “I think it was an important part of my childhood and it was that. As I grew up, I sort of figured out what was important to me and my own belief system. We all grow up and we all live life and find out what’s important to us, that’s what happened. I went on that journey myself and I’m now comfortable with who I am and what I believe in and I’m an adult.”
Williams then asked Kevin and Joe‘s younger brother whether he was still a virgin. “Just to be clear,” she said. “Taking off the ring could be you’re not a virgin or you’re contemplating.”
“No,” he confessed, cheekily adding: “As I said, I’m an adult in all ways.” (Nick is not the only Jonas brother to discuss his virginity in the last year. The singer’s big brother Joe, 24, told New York Magazine last December that he first had sex at age 20. “I did other stuff before then, but I was sexually active at 20,” he told the mag. “I’m glad I waited for the right person.”)
On Wednesday, Nick discussed his relationship with his girlfriend, former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo. “We’re enjoying the ride together and its’s been a pretty insane year and half,” he said on the show. “Lots of changes in both of our lives and she’s been a teammate through all of it.”
Jonas admitted that his latest hit single, “Jealous,” was actually written about Culpo (who also stars in his music video). “We went out one night and this guy was looking at her for a little too long,” he recalled. “It was uncomfortable. I’m not a jealous person and this was an experience that I was one or two drinks in. I really got into it and then I decided to let me just process this a different way and go into the studio and write this song.”
