Sarah Paulson has chosen a side. The actress, who plays famed prosecutor Marcia Clark on The People v. O.J. Simpson, revealed in a new interview whether she thinks O.J. Simpson killed his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman in 1994.
“When you watch it, and you really see — certainly now — the mountain … the pile of evidence. It’s incredibly powerful evidence,” Paulson, 41, told Entertainment Weekly’s Tim Stack on SiriusXM 105 on Wednesday, April 5.
The evidence that Paulson refers to is Simpson’s DNA. In the 1995 murder case, it was argued that a pair of socks found near the former football star’s bed matched the DNA type of Brown Simpson. DNA expert Robin Cotton said in court that only one in 9.7 billion other white people shared that same type.
“There are not even this many people on the planet,” Paulson told Stack of the possibility that someone else may have perpetrated the crime. “It could be nobody else.”
As previously reported, Paulson sat down with Clark, 62, before filming the FX limited series, which ended its run on Tuesday. The women hit it off right away and had the tequila drinks flowing.
“When I saw her, it was like seeing someone I’d idolized or had a terrible crush on for my whole life. And she walked into the restaurant and I was like, ‘Ahhh,'” Paulson said during The Ellen DeGeneres Show on March 8. “And she sort of looked around like this was a sort of terrifying experience for her.”
