Mmhmm. Tori Kelly tweeted on Tuesday, February 16, that she thoroughly enjoyed everything about the 2016 Grammys — despite her unimpressed reaction to Taylor Swift‘s Album of the Year speech, which went viral.
“I loved every moment of last night,” the “Should’ve Been Us” singer, 23, tweeted alongside a snap of herself on the red carpet at the Staples Center in L.A. “I cant express how thankful I am. Here’s to the next chapter.”
She also posted a snap from her performance with fellow Grammy nominee James Bay. “It was such a pleasure sharing the stage with you incredibly talented gentleman, @jamesbaymusic,” Kelly wrote.
Though their performance was spectacular, Kelly dominated headlines for a different reason on Tuesday. During Swift’s memorable acceptance speech, the Best New Artist nominee looked seemingly unimpressed — complete with an obvious pout — while other audience members appeared inspired by the two-time Album of the Year winner’s remarks.
“I want to say to all the young women out there — there are going to be people along the way who are going to try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” Swift, 26, told the crowd during her emotional speech. (Of course, Swift was referring to Kanye West‘s recent claims that he was the one to bring her to fame.) “But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you’ll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”
