Moving forward! Since Tracy Morgan’s serious car accident in June 2014, the comedian has been working on both his physical recovery and his lawsuit against Walmart.
At the time, the 30 Rock alum, 46, was a passenger in a vehicle that was hit by a Walmart truck on the New Jersey Turnpike. The six-vehicle accident took the life of Morgan’s friend James McNair; Morgan survived, but sustained a broken leg, femur, nose, ribs, and traumatic brain injury.
The terms and conditions of Morgan’s settlement with Walmart remain confidential at this time, but Walmart president and CEO Greg Foran released a statement following the settlement.
“Our thoughts continue to go out to everyone that was involved in the accident,” Foran’s statement read. “While we know there is nothing that can change what happened, Walmart has been committed to doing what’s right to help ensure the well-being of all of those who were impacted by the accident. We worked closely with [Morgan and the other plaintiff’s lawyer] Mr. Morelli, and we are pleased to have reached an amicable settlement that ends this litigation. We are deeply sorry that one of our trucks was involved.”
Morgan also released a statement, noting, “Walmart did right by me and my family, and for my associates and their families. I am grateful that the case was resolved amicably.”
