American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson is shaping up to be a really promising TV event. In newly released official cast photos, Cuba Gooding Jr., David Schwimmer, John Travolta and the rest of the cast look nearly identical to their respective characters.
Based on Jeffrey Tobin’s book, The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson, the Ryan Murphy-created anthology will be told from the perspective of the lawyers — including Robert Kardashian — involved in O.J. Simpson’s famous 1995 murder trial and will take a behind-the-scenes look at the case.
Cuba Gooding Jr. portrays Simpson while David Schwimmer takes on Robert Kardashian. Kardashian’s partner, Robert Shapiro, is portrayed by John Travolta. Kardashian’s ex-wife Kris Jenner will be played by Selma Blair, although her official photo has not been released yet.
Courtney B. Vance is Johnnie Cochran, Sarah Paulson is Marcia Clark, and Billy Magnussen portrays key player Kato Kaelin.
Although Blair’s official photo has yet to be released, the Cruel Intentions star admits she’s a dead ringer for Jenner, whom she recently met at an event in L.A. on May 12. “People do say I look like Kris,” Blair told Us Weekly at the event for the Children’s Justice Campaign. “You kind of have to get in her mindset from like 20 years ago [with] this trial,” she added of Jenner, who was friends with Simpson and the late Nicole Simpson Brown.
