She’s not excited … or trying to hide it. Elizabeth Berkley opened up about the upcoming unauthorized Saved By the Bell Lifetime movie at the Dizzy Feet event at the Los Angeles Music Center on Saturday, July 19.
“I know nothing about what they are planning,” the Showgirls star, 41, admitted to Us Weekly. “I’m not really curious about it because we know the life we led, and I have no idea what their picture of it is. So who knows!”
The television movie is set to highlight the behind-the-scenes drama that went on during the sitcom’s long run in the ’80s and ’90s. Part of the film’s story will be based off Dustin Diamond‘s 2009 tell-all book Behind the Bell, which outlined the cast’s drug use and sexual escapades.
The film’s creators also conducted their own interviews to give an in-depth look into the hit sitcom’s alleged true story. Supernatural‘s Tiera Skovbye will play Berkley, who brought book smart feminist Jessie Spano to life on the show.
