Hey sister, go sister! Hayden Panettiere is ditching Nashville for the Moulin Rouge in the Thursday, February 11, episode of Spike TV’s Lip Sync Battle — and Christina Aguilera is coming along for the ride.
As seen in a new preview of the episode, Panettiere, 26, brings down the house with a performance of “Lady Marmalade,” as sung by Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, Mya and Pink for the Moulin Rouge! soundtrack in 2001. (The original version was recorded by Patti LaBelle’s girl group LaBelle in 1974.)
Joined onstage by a team of lingerie-clad backup dancers, the Nashville star struts and gyrates around the stage in a replica of Aguilera’s costume from the music video: a sexy red corset dripping in jewels, black hot pants, long red gloves, fishnets and knee-high red boots. She even has the Voice coach’s massive mane of frizzy blonde hair, topped with a sparkling headpiece.
Halfway through the clip, the “Candyman” songstress herself appears from behind a large, feathered fan and takes her place at the front of the stage — just in time for one of her trademark vocal runs.
Panettiere is set to compete against Eva Longoria on the show. Lip Sync Battle airs on Spike TV on Thursday, February 11, at 10 p.m. EST.
