Ah, young love. Kaley Cuoco was thrilled to take home the trophy for Favorite Comedic TV Actress at the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday, Jan. 8 — but not as thrilled as she was to marry Ryan Sweeting on New Year's Eve.
During her acceptance speech at L.A.'s Nokia Theatre, the Big Bang Theory actress gushed about her new husband, who watched proudly from the audience. After thanking her costars on the CBS comedy, she turned to address Sweeting directly.
"This is the second best thing that's happened to me this year," the 28-year-old newlywed said of her win. "The first was marrying you, baby. I love you."
As previously reported, Cuoco and Sweeting tied the knot in a romantic ceremony in Southern California on Tuesday, Dec. 31. The blushing bride donned a petal-pink strapless Vera Wang gown for the occasion, and later tweeted that the wedding was the "greatest night of [her] entire life."
Her spouse, 26, was similarly elated. "My cheeks hurt from smiling so hard," he captioned a photo from their big event. "Best night in history."
