Umm…shade alert! While Ed Sheeran was heading up to the MTV Video Music Awards stage to accept the award for Best Male Video for his song "Sing," he was forced to dodge some hate from last year's VMA queen Miley Cyrus.
The British singer, 23, was sitting in the same row as Cyrus, 21, when his name was called. He stood up smiling and high-fived a few people around the "Wrecking Ball" crooner, but not Cyrus herself.
Cyrus looked on coldly as Sheeran passed, not clapping, and right as he walked past her, she was visibly seen saying "a–hole!" If her comment was a joke, the former Disney star showed no signs of it.
In September 2013, Sheeran dissed Cyrus for her wild-child ways during an interview in The Mirror, saying, "It’s a stripper’s move. If I had a daughter of mine, I wouldn’t want her twerking. When I first heard 'Wrecking Ball,' I thought it was a brilliant song. But the video distracts too much from it."
