Best performance of the night? Taylor Swift sure seemed to think so! Kendrick Lamar performed a mash-up of his “M.A.A.A.d City” with Imagine Dragons‘ “Radioactive” at the 2014 Grammy Awards at L.A.’s Staples Center on Sunday, Jan. 26. The 26-year-old hip hop artist and Las Vegas band rocked out on stage together — but not quite as hard as Swift did in the audience.
The 24-year-old country singer — whose animated awards-show dancing has become her signature over the past few years — was seated front-and-center for the duo’s collaboration, and seen up on her feet throughout the show number. Along with a female pal, Swift danced and waved her hands in the air while enjoying the song. The “All Too Well” singer’s silver Gucci dress, which she said was “heavy” on the red carpet, didn’t stop her from rocking out hard.
Lamar and Imagine Dragons’ performance featured smoke machines, red explosive paint and strobe lights that looked like a police riot. Imagine Dragons’ lead singer, Dan Reynolds, previously hinted to The Hollywood Reporter that their performance would be over-the-top. “In a perfect world, it would be like the Hunger Games and at the end, me and Kendrick would light on fire,” he joked
