Cheyenne and Cory met while filming The Challenge: Rivals III, which aired on MTV in 2016. While the Are You The One? alum refused to reveal whether she and Cory hooked up during the series while filming the reunion show that July, a source exclusively told Us the twosome were seen being affectionate off camera.
About six months after Cheyenne gave birth to a baby girl named Ryder, she told Cory on Halloween that he is the father. Cory revealed during a September 2018 interview on the The Domenick Nati Show that he knew she was pregnant, but both of them thought the possibility of him being the dad after one hookup “wasn’t really likely.” Nearly two months later, the MTV stars broke the news to the world. “I’ve been off of social media for a while now… for many reasons. Most importantly God has given me the biggest blessing in my life, my daughter Ryder K Wharton,” Cory wrote on Instagram in December 2017.
Us Weekly confirmed in September 2018 that Cheyenne was joining the cast of Teen Mom OG. She tells Us that Cory thought she was “kidding” when she told him about the opportunity. “He’s like ‘Where did they come from? We’re not teen parents. You know that show was pretty well-established as far as like their cast.’ He thought I was like joking. Then I was like ‘No, no, I’m being serious,’” Cheyenne explains, noting that a lot of their Challenge castmates reached out after the news broke. “They were surprised [and] they were they were very supportive … a couple of them will be on the show.”
Cheyenne is excited for viewers to see another side of her and Cory on the series. “They haven't seen me on TV since I did The Challenge and I literally had the baby right after, so it will be interesting to see what they think,” she tells Us. “We're excited to show our healthy coparenting relationship. … He gives me a lot of pep talks.”
Cheyenne and Cory may not be romantically involved, but she admits the pair are “very open with each other” with their respective love lives. “I don’t know if that’s a good or a bad thing because then we both have opinions on each other’s relationships. We’re still learning how to not cross certain boundaries with each other and we’re still learning,” she explains to Us, adding that Cory and her boyfriend, Zach, have “always gotten along.”
The reality TV personalities are set to celebrate a big milestone in October 2018 — Cory’s anniversary of finding out he’s a dad! “Our next celebration is actually going to be Halloween because that’s the day that Cory found out, so it’s his one year [as a dad],” Cheyenne tells Us. “We’re having a party. It’s the one-year Cory party. It’s Cory’s day to shine.”
Cory and Cheyenne went to dinner to celebrate the anniversary of the date they found out Cory was Ryder’s father and had a big party with their family. Afterward, they “did the nasty” as Cheyenne put it. “It wasn’t like some drunk sloppy sex … it’s definitely different from before,” she said on the finale.
During the reunion special, Cheyenne said she was open to a relationship but that Cory definitely wasn’t ready to settle down. “This is honestly what we’re trying to figure out right now. We crossed the line, keep crossing the line,” she said during the reunion special on December 24.
Cory also broke down crying during the reunion, saying that he loves Ryder so much and he’s changed a lot since the moment they met. When Dr. Drew asked the pair if they’d have more kids together in the future, they both said yes. “100 percent,” he said. She responded, “I don’t know how long I’ll wait, but I’ll wait.”
