The Ellen DeGeneres Show, also known as Ellen, premiered in September 2003 in syndication, created and hosted by its namesake, Ellen DeGeneres. The daytime talk show ran for 19 seasons, ending in May 2022, and was filmed on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank from 2008 onward.

DeGeneres spent each episode interviewing guests, including celebrities, newsmakers and people with extraordinary talents. The show often included audience participation games, prize giveaways, man-on-the-street interviews, music performances and more.

Throughout its run, the show won 17 People’s Choice Awards and 61 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four for Outstanding Talk Show and seven for Outstanding Talk Show Entertainment. DeGeneres herself is a four-time winner of the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host and 15-time winner of the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Daytime TV Host.

In summer 2020, the talk show’s reputation took a hit when several former staff members alleged they experienced a toxic workplace, prompting WarnerMedia to launch an investigation. DeGeneres responded with a lengthy memo apologizing to her team and promised to make a change moving forward. Shortly after the controversy, DeGeneres confirmed in May 2021 that the show would conclude at the end of the 2021–22 season.

Along with The Ellen DeGeneres Show, DeGeneres hosted Ellen’s Game of Games from 2017 to 2021.
