It Ends with Us

About

It Ends with Us is a poignant romantic drama that follows the journey of Lily Bloom (Blake Lively), a young woman who navigates the complexities of love, heartbreak, and resilience. After moving to Boston and embarking on a passionate relationship with neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni), Lily finds herself grappling with her past and the legacy of her family’s struggles.

As she confronts challenging truths about love and domestic violence, she must decide what kind of life and love she truly wants. Based on Colleen Hoover‘s bestselling novel, the film explores themes of empowerment and the difficult choices that shape our lives.

Lively served as a producer on the film, which was directed by Baldoni. His production company, Wayfarer Studios, owns the rights to the book.

The film made headlines amid its theatrical release in August 2024 as rumors of a rift between the It Ends With Us costars spread. In a lawsuit filed in December 2024, Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and creating an unsafe work environment on the set. He denied all allegations.

Baldoni and other plaintiffs went on to sue The New York Times in December 2024, who broke the story. (NYT denied any wrongdoing.)

Baldoni’s Wayfarer Studios also filed a separate lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist, Leslie Sloane, seeking $400 million in damages.
