Tell Me Lies

The drama series premiered via Hulu in September 2022, bringing Carola Lovering’s book of the same name to the small screen. The show follows the story of college student Lucy (Grace Van Patten) as she deals with a tumultuous relationship at the hands of her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Stephen (Jackson White) — and everyone has secrets.

While Tell Me Lies is primarily shown through the eyes of Lucy and Stephen’s college years in the early 2000s, there are also flash-forwards which bring more questions to viewers. Drama continues eight years into the future as Lucy and Stephen are brought face-to-face once again ahead of Bree’s (Catherine Missal) wedding to Evan (Branden Cook).

New characters — like Leo (Thomas Doherty) and Max (Edmund Donovan) — are introduced as an attempt to keep Lucy from returning to Stephen, and his toxic ways, but they can’t keep their hands off each other.

Following the major cliffhanger in the season 1 finale, Tell Me Lies was brought back to Hulu for a second season, which premiered in September 2024. Tell Me Lies is produced by Emma Roberts and her production company, Belletrist TV.
