The Royals
About
The Royals is E!’s first scripted series, which started out as a loose adaptation of Michelle Ray’s 2011 novel Falling for Hamlet.
The series follows Queen Helena (Elizabeth Hurley) and King Simon (Vincent Regan), the rulers of the British royal family, trying to keep their family afloat in the public eye after the death of their eldest son and heir to the throne, Prince Robert (Max Brown). Following Robert’s death, Prince Liam (William Moseley), twin to Princess Eleanor (Alexandra Park), is next in line for the throne.
Other characters include King Simon’s brother Prince Cyrus (Jake Maskall), royal bodyguard Sir Jasper Frost (Tom Austen), head of royal security Ted Pryce (Oliver Milburn) and his daughter, Ophelia (Merritt Patterson).
The Royals aired from 2015 to 2018. E! announced that the series had been canceled after season 4.
