Welcome to Plathville introduced TLC viewers to Barry and Kim Plath and their nine children: Ethan, Hosanna (who has chosen not to appear on the show), Micah, Moriah, Lydia, Isaac, Amber, Cassia and Mercy. Barry and Kim raise their children with strict and conservative values, and drama arises as the kids grow up and start challenging their parents’ beliefs.

The oldest Plath sibling, Ethan, married Olivia Plath (née Meggs) in 2018, but the twosome announced their divorce five years later. Barry and Kim split in 2022 after 24 years of marriage, and season 4 saw the division of the family into different households.

The reality show premiered in 2019. Season 5 aired in 2023.
