Sporty, sexy, and stylish! Some of professional sports’ biggest names — Aaron Rodgers, Derek Jeter, and Dwyane Wade — hit the red carpet of the 2015 Met Gala on Monday, May 4, joining their significant others at fashion’s biggest annual fete.
For the star-studded occasion, NFL quarterback Rodgers traded his jersey for a fitted tuxedo by Lanvin. The Green Bay Packers player’s outfit included a black jacket with a peak lapel, paired with a matching silk pique bow tie. His girlfriend Olivia Munn looked equally stunning in an ombre gown by J. Mendel.
Another jock’s girlfriend, Hannah Davis, also wore the same brand to the Met Gala on Monday night. The 2015 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover girl looked amazing in a fitted red chiffon gown with a high slit and a tiny clutch by Kotur. Davis, 25, brought her boyfriend, former Yankees captain Jeter to the stylish bash, where the two reveled in their red carpet moment.
The model spoke to Us Weekly and other reporters outside of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Benefit about prepping for the event. “It was kind of like people were coming in and out all day long,” she said of getting ready. “So we just had a lot of people at the hotel. I think they were more stressed out than me.” Jeter, meanwhile, appeared at ease in a tux by Rag & Bone.
Last but certainly not least was NBA hotshot Dwyane Wade, who beamed outside of the Met with his wife Gabrielle Union. The Bring It On actress looked resplendent in a jersey and bonded crepe gown by Zac Posen, which she paired with Charlotte Olympia heels and Gemfields jewels.
Her ever-so-stylish husband stood tall in his tux by Versace, complete with a custom red sash by the designer and jewelry by Buccellati.
Other sports-related names to attend the Met Gala on Monday included New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (in custom H&M), and Kerry Washington‘s husband Nnamdi Asomugha.
