After decades as a redhead, Christina Hendricks is finally returning to her roots. The Mad Men star revealed her new blonde hair color as part of her campaign for Clairol Nice ‘n Easy, and — no shock here — she looks stunning.
Hendricks, 39, famously went Anne-of-Green-Gables red after falling in love with the book series as a preteen. “Growing up, I was light blonde, but my mother used Clairol to make me a redhead when I was 10 because I was dying to be Anne of Green Gables,” the star, married to Geoffrey Arend since 2009, told Marie Claire. “When she finished, I felt this burst of energy, like, ‘Ah! I’m finally me!’ — which is a pretty funny sentiment for a 10-year-old.”
Although she went back to blonde for a modeling gig as a teen, when she was able to adopt the fiery hue once again for a shoot in Italy, Hendricks never looked back. “I think it suits me, and people always think I’m a natural redhead anyway, so I kept that shade,” she said.
