Keeping it hush-hush! Kendall Jenner revealed during Jimmy Kimmel Live! that only two of her family members knew ahead of time that she had landed the cover of Vogue‘s September issue — Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian.
“The whole family is famous. I can’t imagine how embarrassing it would be to not be famous in your family,” Kimmel, 48, said on Wednesday, August 24. “But when you share news like the Vogue magazine for instance, do you have to tell them right away, before it’s announced? Do people find out from other sources?”
“This I really wanted to keep a secret from everyone,” Jenner, 20, replied. “I think my mom was the only one who knew. I slipped up on Kim. I told Kim … I wanted it to be a surprise. Not only for everyone but also my family. I just wanted it to be super special.”
The fashion bible revealed Jenner’s smoldering cover for its September 2016 issue on August 11. The photo features the model wearing a cleavage-baring mariachi-inspired Gucci ensemble.
Following its debut, Jenner shared an Instagram video of herself celebrating with her family.
“Do you ever wish there was fewer Kardashians so you get more of the attention?” Kimmel teased on Wednesday.
“Never!” Jenner said, laughing. “I love having a big family. It’s the best thing in the world. You always have someone to talk to.”
The late-night host might even be invited to the next Kardashian-Jenner bash. Earlier this summer, Jenner bought a $6.5 million Hollywood Hills mansion from Kimmel’s former neighbors John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. The couple moved to NYC with their daughters, Hazel, 2, and Violet, 2 months. (Kimmel and his wife, Molly McNearney, are parents of daughter Jane, 2.)
“Well, welcome to the neighborhood!” Kimmel said to Jenner. “If you need navigation, let me know. Are you available for babysitting?”
