Only a sister could come up with a line that’s so deliciously snide, wonderfully spot-on, yet totally endearing all at once. Lena Dunham took to Twitter to share her younger sibling’s critique of her Emmys 2013 dress — a voluminous bright teal Prada gown featuring an orange flower print — and it’s pretty apparent that humor runs in the family.
” ‘It’s like the Delia’s catalogue made a red carpet dress!’ – my sister giving me the truest compliment when I showed her my Emmy look #joy” the Girls creator and star, 27, tweeted of her little sis Grace‘s hilarious quip. (dELiA*s is a teen fashion catalogue, known for inexpensive trendy items, which launched in the early 1990s; Grace, 21, had a memorable role as her smart, sardonic sister in Lena’s first feature film Tiny Furniture, which also starred their mom, artist Laurie Simmons.)
The colorful, statement-making frock has already made several worst-dressed lists, but the HBO star did manage to make it onto at least one best-dressed list, and it’s one that matters — Vogue‘s! The fashion bible put her edgy look on their most stylish at the Emmys list!
