Kate Middleton isn’t the only one who needs a hospital exit outfit!
With his second child due any day now, Prince William hit the shops of London on Wednesday, April 22, on the hunt for casual (and exclusively blue) clothing.
The Duke of Cambridge, 32, strolled into Peter Jones (a large department store in London’s Knightsbridge area) with two security guards and his personal shopper, who pulled a bevy of blue items for the second-time dad-to-be, an onlooker exclusively told Us Weekly.
While William mostly stayed inside his dressing room, allowing his personal shopper to grab different sizes, a salesperson said that he was extremely down to earth. “Prince William was very nice to all the staff,” the onlooker told Us.
After browsing the Barbour section of the store and contemplating Toms and Converse shoes, the heir to the throne decided on multiple of pairs of John Lewis and GANT jeans, and two “Merino V-Neck Jumpers,” also by John Lewis, one in powder blue and one in navy blue (40 pounds each). The grand total: almost 800 pounds (or about $1,200).
While the Prince could have been shopping for any occasion—from his suits to his jeans, the royal does love his blue clothing—the onlooker noted that the colors he chose were quite similar to those he wore when he and his wife presented Prince George to the world for the first time in 2013.
The Duke’s personal shopper attempted to carry his bags for him on his way out, but, ever the gentleman, William wouldn’t allow it. He carried one stuffed bag, and handed two more to his security guard, before leaving the store.
