The perfect holiday present! The View‘s Sara Haines gave birth to a baby girl named Sandra Grace on Saturday, December 23.
“She’s here!! Today we met our little Christmas package — Sandra Grace Shifrin (named after my mom),” Haines, 40, captioned a sweet Instagram pic with her husband Max Shifrin and their newborn. “She weighed in at a cool 7 pounds, 2 ounces. We can’t decide who she looks like, but we’ll keep her anyway ;)”
Shifrin also shared two pics on Instagram, writing that their daughter, “Came out without a hitch at 3:23 this morning thanks to Mama’s hard work.”
Sandra Grace is the couple’s second child — they have a son, Alec, 21 months.
Haines announced her pregnancy on The View in June, admitting that she’d had been battling terrible morning sickness in the early months of her pregnancy.
“I’ve been having a rough time, so I’ve had crackers brought out to me, and ginger ale,” she said on the ABC talk show. “So, anyone who has been in the studio audience [recently] probably could have picked up on it.”
As for having two children under the age of 2, Haines said that because she’s “an older mommy,” she doesn’t “have the privilege of time.”
The ABC News correspondent, who battled postpartum depression after giving birth to Alec, added that she thought her husband “is scared” about having a little girl.
“I’m very much looking forward to it because I have a brother, but I grew up with two sisters,” she said. “I just feel I get the female experience way more than the boy thing.”
