Sara Haines

Sara Haines grew up in Iowa with dreams of being in front of the camera. After graduating from Smith College in Massachusetts, she headed to New York and landed a spot in the NBC Page Program. She eventually got a job as a production coordinator on the Today show.

Haines became a correspondent for the show’s fourth hour in 2009 and remained part of the team until 2013. She then worked as an ABC News correspondent before becoming the pop news anchor for Good Morning America.

The journalist joined The View in 2016 as one of the talk show’s cohosts. Two years later, she exited The View to cohost Strahan and Sara alongside Michael Strahan (it was previously called GMA Day).

In 2019, Keke Palmer joined the team as the third host and the morning show was renamed GMA3: Strahan, Sara and Keke. After guest hosting on and off for The View, Haines returned as a permanent host in 2020, which she still works on.

Haines previously hosted The Chase game show from 2021 to 2023. She has also appeared as herself on scripted TV shows such as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Hacks.

The news anchor married attorney Max Shifrin in November 2014. The couple share three children: daughter Sandra and sons Alec and Caleb.
