Ariana Grande started her career in the Broadway musical 13 before landing her breakout television role as Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon show Victorious. After the show ended in 2013, Grande joined the spinoff series, Sam & Cat, which ended in 2014.
In 2013, Grande released her debut album, Yours Truly, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Her second album, My Everything, earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2014. She’s collaborated with A-list performers including Nicki Minaj, Jessie J, Iggy Azalea, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and The Weeknd.
Grande’s star continued to rise with her albums Dangerous Woman (2016), Sweetener (2018), Thank U, Next (2019) and Positions (2020). She won her first Grammy in February 2019, taking home the Best Pop Vocal trophy for Sweetener.
Grande has continued acting, appearing on the Ryan Murphy series Scream Queens (2015) and in the Netflix film Don’t Look Up (2021).. She was cast as Galinda in the two-part movie adaptation of the musical Wicked, which earned her a 2025 Golden Globes nomination for Best Supporting Female Actor, Film, She also launched her makeup line, R.E.M. Beauty, in 2021.
Grande has been linked to actor Graham Phillips, singer Jai Brooks and The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes. She dated Big Sean from 2014 to 2015 before moving on with her backup dancer Ricky Alvarez, from whom she split in 2016.
She dated the late rapper Mac Miller from 2016 until May 2018, four months before his death at age 26. Grande was engaged to Pete Davidson for four months in 2018.
Following a short fling with Mikey Foster, Grande sparked a romance with real estate agent Dalton Gomez. They announced their engagement in December 2020 and officially tied the knot in May 2021. Us Weekly confirmed in July 2023 that Grande and Gomez separated after two years of marriage, and their divorce was finalized in October 2023. Grande moved on with her Wicked costar Ethan Slater.
