Selena Gomez is a singer, actress and producer best known for her work on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place and her music career. Gomez was born in Grand Prairie, Texas, where she was raised by her mother, Mandy Teefey, after her parents divorced when she was 5. She was homeschooled and earned her high school diploma in 2010. She got her start in entertainment on Barney & Friends alongside a young Demi Lovato.

Gomez rose to fame starring as Alex Russo on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place from 2007 to 2012. During that time, she launched her music career and signed with Hollywood Records. She released three albums with her band Selena Gomez & the Scene and began appearing in feature films including Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Monte Carlo (2011).

Her solo music career includes the albums Stars Dance (2013), Revival (2015) and Rare (2020), with hits like “Come & Get It,” “Good for You” and “Lose You to Love Me.” As an actress and producer, she earned critical praise for her role on Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short. She also boasts credits as an executive producer of Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why and the docuseries Living Undocumented. In 2022, she released the Apple TV+ documentary Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me, which centered her mental health journey.

Gomez’s highly publicized relationship with Justin Bieber lasted on and off from 2011 to 2018. She was later linked to The Weeknd and Zedd before entering a relationship with producer Benny Blanco in June 2023. The two announced their engagement the following year. Gomez and Blanco tied the knot in September 2025.
