Joanna Gaines’ baby shower was lit! The Fixer Upper star, who is pregnant with baby No. 5 — a boy — shared photos from her book-themed celebration on Saturday, June 9.
In one picture, the 39-year-old designer poses on a life-size stack of novels while surrounded by green, yellow and blue balloons.
“I like big books and cannot lie,” wrote Gaines her Instagram caption. “Blown away by the creativity and thoughtfulness of my friends — just the cutest book shower ever for baby Gaines. Feelin’ the love . . . now I Just need to figure out how to shove these books into my car so I can get them to the farm! #babygotbooks.”
Joanna and her husband, Chip, 43, are already parents of Drake, 13, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie, 8.
In an April blog post, Joanna shared that her fifth pregnancy “has been so fun” because her kids are excited to welcome a new sibling. “Since I had our first four babies so close to one another, none of them actually remember me being pregnant,” the Magnolia Table author revealed. “They love my growing belly (and boys is it growing) and they can’t wait to meet him.”
The Waco, Texas-based couple, who have been married 15 years, costarred on HGTV’s Fixer Upper from May 2013 to April 2018. Joanna and Chip announced in September 2017 that season would be be their last. A source told Us Weekly at the time, “They want to focus on raising their kids and being a family since their kids are getting older.”
Joanna is looking forward to the next chapter that includes a baby boy and children’s furniture store Magnolia Kids. “For us, this end of of this final season makes the beginning of a new one,” she wrote in her April blog post. “If you would have told me that I’d end this season of the shower pregnant with our fifth baby, I would’ve laughed. Like the entire Fixer Upper opportunity as a whole, life has a way of surprising us.
