Jessica Simpson is stepping back into her comfort zone — style-wise, that is. On Wednesday, March 27, the pregnant Fashion Star mentor, 32, stepped out in Beverly Hills for a little retail therapy with a friend. Her outfit of choice? Baggy green sweatpants, blue New Balance sneakers, a black hooded sweatshirt, and a tight black T-shirt that showed off her growing baby bump.
Wearing little-to-no makeup and letting her long blonde hair fall loose around her shoulders, the singer and mom to Maxwell, 10 months, looked healthy and relaxed as she headed back to her car from the Ralph Lauren store. But as she admitted to Ellen DeGeneres earlier this month, her second pregnancy has been a difficult one.
"With Maxwell, I felt amazing. Like I could do everything, eat everything. Do whatever I wanted," she recalled. "I had a lot of energy. This time around…I'm, like, exhausted. Eating Tums. That's my snack of choice."
The Weight Watchers spokeswoman — who famously gained 50-plus pounds during while carrying daughter Maxwell — has been trying to make "healthier, wiser decisions" this time around. But the exhaustion is definitely taking its toll.
"Maxwell's a really good sleeper. For me, right now, the only reason parenting is a little bit hard is because I'm so tired from this pregnancy," she told Ryan Seacrest on March 6. "Maybe when I have two I'll be less tired, but I don't know about that."
"I think originally I had wanted three [kids], and now that I have one and another one on the way, I feel like I could stop here," she added. "It's a lot of work. Obviously it pays off and it's totally worth it, but it's a lot of responsibility."
