Robin Williams will be honored and celebrated by Billy Crystal and Sara Bareilles at the 66th annual Emmy Awards on Monday, Aug. 25.
The late actor, who committed suicide on Aug. 11, will be remembered with a “proper and meaningful remembrance he so well deserves,” Emmys executive producer Don Mischer said.
Fellow comedian Billy Crystal will present the tribute while Sara Bareilles will handle the musical accompaniment during the “In Memoriam” portion of the show. Bareilles dedicated her song “Hercules” to the late actor during a concert at the Greek Theatre the day of his death. Williams took home an Emmy for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program in both 1987 for Carol, Carl, Whoopi and Robin and in 1988 for ABC Presents: A Royal Gala.
Just last year, the Mrs. Doubtfire actor honored his idol Jonathan Winters during the same Emmy segment.
Wiliams passed away at the age of 63 and is survived by his wife Susan Schneider and three children Zachary, Zelda, and Cody.
