Melissa Rivers is remembering her mother during the holidays. The TV personality, 46, is celebrating her first Thanksgiving after the untimely death of beloved comedienne Joan Rivers.
Melissa recognized the milestone on Twitter on Thursday, Nov. 27. She posted a message from Joan's Twitter account, using the profile for the first time in months. The late star, who passed away at the age of 81 on Sept. 4, last tweeted this past August.
"I finally figured out my mom's password," Melissa wrote. "HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Xo Melissa." Along with the message, she shared a sweet vintage photo of herself with her mother.
The sepia-toned image shows a younger Melissa laughing and holding hands with Joan, while seated at a table in their formal wear.
While she will be without her mother this year, Melissa is continuing her family traditions and honoring the late star with a Thanksgiving dinner of friends and loved ones on Thursday.
Joan's Thanksgiving dinners were famous. The meals were detailed in her reality show with Melissa, Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?, and called "epic" by the Wall Street Journal.
While Melissa has yet to publicize her plans for this year's Thanksgiving feast, she retweeted the photo with Joan from her own account.
