Before rumors started circulating that former "Scary Spice" Mel B was the victim of domestic abuse at the hands of her husband Stephen Belafonte, the singer hinted at marital strife during a recent interview with the UK's Grazia magazine.
After arriving in a huff and three hours late for the interview, Mel B told the magazine she had gotten into a heated argument with her husband of seven years.
"I walked in pissed off because I had a big row with my husband about stupid stuff," she told the mag. "Sometimes he pisses me off like no other, but he gets me."
On Sunday, Dec. 14, rumors circulated when Mel appeared on the UK's The X Factor finale with bruises on her face and arms and without her wedding ring. Mel had missed the semi-finals the night before due to an undisclosed illness. Belafonte, a producer, then took to Twitter to shoot down the rumors and defend himself, calling the allegations "disgusting" and "untrue."
The following day, however, The Sun reported that Mel B had moved out of their shared London home together. As previously reported, sources confirmed to Us that luggage and boxes were being taken away from the house on Monday, Dec. 15.
A source told Us the duo have always had a "volatile" relationship.
