Cameron Diaz's recipe for a happy life? Do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight! The Annie actress, 42 — who married Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden in January — sat down with Cosmpolitan UK recently to talk about how she stays fit and healthy through a combination of diet, exercise, and, yes, sex.
"It's something healthy that we need to be doing for many different reasons," Diaz told the mag (via the UK's Evening Standard) of gettin' busy between the sheets.
Of course, this is not the first time the Sex Tape star has extolled the virtues of a healthy sex life. Back in 2010, she told British Vogue it helped to keep her young.
"The fountain of youth [for me], let's see…I guess it's exercise, healthy diet, lots of water, lots of laughter, lots of sex — yes, sex, we need that as human beings," she said at the time. "It's healthy, it's natural, it's what we are here to do!"
The same could be said for regular exercise. "You have to just do it," she told Cosmo UK of working out. "Once you commit and really put in the effort, your body goes, 'Oh, it's not okay to be without this.' People say, 'My body rejects exercise.' No, it doesn't. Your mind rejects exercise.
Which is not to say Diaz doesn't ever let herself relax or indulge. "Well-being is an equation," she explained. "Remember, you don't have to have the whole cake, you can have a piece. Don't deprive yourself. Have fun. Just be self-aware. If your equation is 80 percent good, 20 percent bad most of the time, then a little movement toward the center isn't going to affect you much."
