No need for beauty sleep, apparently! Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively‘s newborn baby girl is getting little shut-eye, the Green Lantern actor revealed in an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on Monday, March 2.
Reynolds, 38, appeared on the late-night show to promote his new film Woman in Gold, and obliged to dish about his daughter with wife Lively.
“It’s exciting, nine weeks now! I do everything [for her],” Reynolds said of his little girl, reportedly named James, who was born this past December. In fact, the A-list hunk even sings to the tot, but to little avail. “Our baby in particular is, we think, allergic to sleep.”
“We joke that she… thinks that she’s keeping us [safe],” he continued of himself and Lively, 27. “She’s protecting us from the sleep monsters. She’s like, ‘Oh, I gotta keep them up or the sleep monsters will get them.'”
When his singing doesn’t work, the Mississippi Grind star said he tries other strategies, but he often ends up lulling himself to sleep, rather than his daughter.
“The trick I try to use is that Baby Einstein stuff, but for me, that’s like horse tranquilizer,” Reynolds spilled. “No, really. I could go down on a lit stove. I could just fall [asleep]. Push me out an airplane, and I, yeah, and the weirdest dreams.
When he wasn’t gushing about his baby girl, the new dad engaged in a little fun with host Fallon, 40. The comedian challenged Reynolds to a game of Egg Russian Roulette, taking a seat at a table opposite the actor.
